Covenant of Mayors
As part of the European Covenant of Mayors movement, 10,000 cities and towns take action to secure a better future for their citizens.
They pledge to contribute to the EU 40% GHG reduction target by 2030, and develop strategies for mitigation and adaptation to climate change, and alleviate energy poverty.
About us
The Covenant of Mayors gathers local governments all of sizes and from all countries around three main objectives: reducing CO2 emissions, increasing their resilience to climate change, ensuring access to sustainable, secure and affordable energy to all.
Signatory local governments also endorse a shared vision for 2050: accelerating the decarbonisation of their territories, strengthening their capacity to adapt to unavoidable climate change impacts, and allowing their citizens to access secure, sustainable and affordable energy.
